The Need for Preservatives & or Alcohol in Water Base Makeup

Water base makeup without any form of preservative and or alcohol will likely grow bacteria, mold, and or yeast.
Water is a haven for microbes.
In an ideal world, the need for preservatives and alcohol in our water base makeup would not be a necessity.
However, this is not the case.
Unless you are going to use your water base makeup in a very short time frame of a week to maybe 3 or 4 months, depending on the water and microbes, you need preservative and or alcohol in your water base makeup!
The likely hood of damage from using makeup products with preservative and or alcohol is minute compared to using water base makeup without preservative and or alcohol.
Microbes in water base makeup without parabens, preservatives and or alcohol highly increases  bacteria, mold, and or yeast.
We all know the health issues of parasites and mold.
So, I recommend using water base makeup that contain preservatives if you are not going to use your water base product within a week to 3 months, depending on the water base product.
ALWAYS keep a close watch of your water base makeup for signs of mold/yeast....
With water base makeup, there is zero guarantee on how long it will be for it to grow mold/yeast. It is just a matter of time that it will.
Water is the necessity for mold and yeast.
The next time you read an article that screams how it is bad to wear products using preservatives and or alcohol, ask the writer how long any untreated water base makeup is protected from microbes of mold and yeast? If they say anything other than ZERO, they are telling you lie!

How to correctly apply mineral airbrush makeup

I often hear people talk about the "splatter effect".

Airbrush makeup is an easy art to learn. If your makeup blotches or puddles, you are either spraying it on too close to the skin or too long in the same spot. 

Water base airbrush makeup does not dry like paints or other forms of wet makeup.

Airbrush makeup also requires it be applied in layers!

The secret to airbrushing airbrush makeup is to hold your airbrush at least 4 inches away from your skin and blow around your face in circles your first layer.

I tell all my clients to use an HAIR BLOW DRYER and dry the first airbrush makeup layer before spraying on a second coat. 

Next, use an HAIR BLOW DRYER and dry your second airbrush makeup layer too.

Your makeup should now have medium coverage.

If you desire heavy coverage, repeat the above steps.

After you have reached your desired airbrush makeup coverage and dried it pretty well with the HAIR BLOW DRYER, you may or may not have what is called the "Dew Effect".

Most waterbase airbrush makeup contain glycerin. 

Glycerin draws moisture from the air and is good for your skin as long as the glycerin in diluted correctly in the formula.

If Glycerin isn't diluted with water to the correct consistency, glycerin will have the opposite effect and draw moisture from your skin. This is not desired! No one wants their skin to dry out! Even if you have acne! This is not the desired way to clear up any acne since it is not addressing the acne problem it self! Not likely to clear it up either!

So, if your finish still has a "Dew Effect/sticky feeling on your skin, use 100% Silica Finishing Powder!

Announced on or about March 01, 2016, the Sponsor will select winner by the highest number of votes on the eligible video entries from among all eligible entries received. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner via telephone or email on or about March 01, 2016. If the potential winner cannot be contacted within five (5) days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, the Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner in his/her place at random from the remaining non-winning, eligible entries.

7. Winner Notification

The potential winners will be notified by email, mail or phone. Each potential Grand and First Prize winner (parent/legal guardian if a minor in his/her state of residence) will be required to complete, electronically sign and submit a Declaration of Compliance within five (5) days of the date notice or attempted notice is sent, in order to claim his/her prize. 9. General Conditions

10. Release and Limitations of Liability

By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, other companies associated with the Contest, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives, and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of the prize (including any travel or activity related thereto), including, but not limited to:

(a) any technical errors associated with the Contest, including lost, interrupted or unavailable Internet Service Provider (ISP), network, server, wireless service provider, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone, cellular tower or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties;

(b) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest;

Airbrush Gun Cheap Cleaning Tip

The cheapest and effective way to clean your airbrush makeup spray gun is:

Buy a bottle of cheap NON-ACETONE NAIL POLISH REMOVER. You can find it cheap at  a Dollar Tree or Dollar General store.

Drop 3 to 5 drops of the NON-ACETONE NAIL POLISH REMOVER into your stylus cup and place your lid back on.
Place your finger over the tip of your airbrush gun and hit your spray gun button several times.  This cleans the inside of the stylus cup.

Next: Remove your finger from the tip of the airbrush gun and hold down the airbrush gun spray button, being sure to point into a trash can or sink. Continue holding down the spray button until EMPTY-only air sprays out.

Next: Fill your stylus cup 1/3 full of water and place your lid back on.
Place your finger over the tip of your airbrush gun and hit your spray gun button several times.  This cleans the inside of the stylus cup.

Next: Remove your finger from the tip of the airbrush gun and hold down the airbrush gun spray button, being sure to point into a trash can or sink. Continue holding down the spray button until EMPTY-only air sprays out.

Next: REPEAT THIS STEP AGAIN

Next: Fill your stylus cup 1/3 full of water and place your lid back on.
Place your finger over the tip of your airbrush gun and hit your spray gun button several times.  This cleans the inside of the stylus cup.

Next: Remove your finger from the tip of the airbrush gun and hold down the airbrush gun spray button, being sure to point into a trash can or sink. Continue holding down the spray button until EMPTY-only air sprays out.

Airbrush Application Instruction

• Clean your face!
• For us "older" women, hairs on the face seem to show up out of nowhere as we age, lol! WAX, TWEEZE or SHAVE those hairs off the face!  Hair on the face will show using airbrush foundation.
• Clean your face again!
• Next, apply a moisturizer. ( I like to use my own concoction of Aloe Vera Gel 100% - bought @ drug store, Vitamin E - also bought @ drug store & water.)
• Optional step: Apply filler/primer if you use it. (I personally use No 7 Photofix Filler & Primer) It isn't a must. Just optional!
• Next and very important protocol of this step, if you have blemishes you wish to hide, apply your concealer BEFORE you apply airbrush make up. Airbrush foundation should cover without any concealer. However, if you do use concealer, it ABSOLUTELY has to be applied BEFORE your airbrushing cosmetic!
• Now your ready to apply your airbrush foundation for your glam look!
  • Place around 6 drops into your airbrush cup. 
  • Test the color on the back side of your hand or wrist area, holding the airbrush gun at least 4 inches away from skin.
  • If the color is too light, add a drop or two of a darker airbrush foundation into the cup. Take a tissue and hold it over the end of the spray gun where the foundation sprays out. Press the spray gun trigger to force the air to mix the colors together inside the spray gun cup. (Be sure you placed the lid back onto the cup before you always spray or push the spray gun button!)
  • Test the color again on your arm. Repeat the adding step until you reach your desired shade of Airbrush foundation.  
  • Do the same step in reverse (i.e. add a drop or two of a lighter shade if your airbrush foundation is too dark.) Remember to tissue the end and place the lid back onto the cup before pressing the spray gun trigger button to mix as well!
  • Now that you have your desired airbrush foundation shade, pull your hair back away from your face secured.
  • Spray your foundation onto your face, starting from the forehead, working in circular motions, down each side and working in towards the middle, then down the chin, neck and upper chest area. MAKE SURE to hold the airbrush spray gun around 4 inches away from your skin.
  • IMPORTANT!!!: 
    • Hold your breath when spraying around your mouth and nose area.
    • KEEP your mouth closed softly!
    • NEVER SQUINT your eyes, but do CLOSE EYES SOFTLY when spraying around the eyes!
  • Let your spray sit for a couple of minutes or use the air from your EMPTY airbrush spray gun to blow your foundation dry/set.
  • When set/Dry, add a drop or two of your blush/bronzer and highlight the areas you want highlighter.
  • Clean you airbrush gun with water, remembering to spray through the nozzle to keep the nozzle clean and free from makeup drying/clogging the spray hole. Also place a tissue over the spray nozzle with the lid on the cup to back wash, then blow out the nozzle again.
  • If you use airbrush eye shadows, you can now apply your eye shadow.
  •  Clean you airbrush gun again with water, remembering to spray through the nozzle to keep the nozzle clean and free from makeup drying/clogging the spray hole. Also place a tissue over the spray nozzle with the lid on the cup to back wash, then blow out the nozzle again.
  • Finished look should last at least 12 hours.  In hot/humid areas of the USA, You may want to apply the Lori G Ashley face dusting powder, AFTER your foundation has dried completely or a few hours later if the set is not staying as you like, as a touch up.
  • Enjoy your beautiful airbrush look!
